Your handheld should let you change timing, gear ratio, tire revs per mile and a few other minor parameters. Once you load a custom tune, you can change those items without affecting the other aspects of the new tune.

Do you have to do it for each tune, or does it update all 3 automatically?

And thanks to TheYeti for the info on the gears. I'll double check, but it's good to know that I already have the 3.55s. Means my gas mileage might not drop quite as much if/when I get 4.10s

your welcome. I know you asked Nuke but not sure yet if you have to do it for each tune. I will find out soon because in the next day or so I will switch over to the 91 Race.

This CAI and Tune is better then I thought. Not sure if its the gain in HP or the tune or a combo but the throttle is much better, even with the 5 speed and once I hit 3200 rpms.......its like being sling shot back into the seat.

With my 10 and 06 I never changed the gear ratio when putting tunes in except in the 06 after I had 4.10s installed and waited forever to get my tunes (seriously like 3 weeks) so I just did it under the options. I think what not changing it does is it does not modify the setting as it exists in the ECU...so whatever the factory is it leaves it alone. I'm just saying that you can but you probably dont need to. Make sure you get new tunes though when you get your 4.10's.

I did the same thing initially. When I got my tuner the gear ratio was "stock" after tinkering around with the SCT, I adjusted the 3.73 gears myself... But here on out, any additional mod I add will have the correct gear ratio included in the updated tune...my OCD

One more way of double checking the gears (if the sticker, plate on diff, & you don't want to pull the cover off) is by the drive shaft. You need a lift or the car in the air.

1. Draw a line on the d/s.

2. rotate the rear wheel one full turn.

3. If the line on the d/s goes around 3.5 times, that equals 3.55's

Good luck

As for the OP, just fix with the handheld.
