Default Small Evap Leak

08 GT. Threw a code 0422 for a small evap leak. I changed the gas cap, cleared the code, but the light came back on. Ford did a smoke test and said its the Evap Canister. $693 for the part. Forget that. Anybody have a similar problem that was resolved much cheaper?

First, are you sure this is not covered by the emissions defect warranty?

If it is not covered, and you are reasonably certain that the part is bad, you could see if Tousley Ford has a lower price.
