How does CAI change sound?

I only hear a difference in 2 scenarios:

1. If I REALLY get on it!
2. If the engine has been running and is fully warmed up I can hear it in stop/go street traffic.

Not much of a difference but it's just as Nuke described it in these scenarios for me. 90% of the time I can't hear it over my exhaust

I can barely hear my stereo system at full volume ( Shaker 1000 ) over my cams and exhaust.
Any noise from my intake was drowned out a half dozen boltons ago. haha

If I've got the windows down and really step on it, I can hear the "whooshing" sound from the CAI. However, I usually find myself paying more attention to the sound of my engine and exhaust.

You can also hear it lose suction when you turn your car off haha
