pulling up the carpet in a 2006 GT
So my middle son puked in the back seat of my car a couple of days ago. The leather cleaned right up of course but the carpet took a beating. I've shop vac'ed, used my wife's hot water upholstry cleaner and now have a box of baking soda liberally sprinkled on the section but the smell persists.
I'm thinking I need to pull up the carpet but I'm wondering how bad a job it's going to be. Anyone ever do this and have things go back together right?
Any other suggestions before I go that route?

Pulling the carpet shouldnt be hard work but it will be time consuming. You will probably need to remove all your seats, the center console, and a bit of the trim before the carpet itself can be removed.
If you do go that route make sure your battery is disconnected before you remove your seat harness and that it stays disconnected until the seats are reconnected or else your airbag lights wil come on and require ford to fix. And if you go to a stupid dealership like mine they will tell you it will cost $1350 to fix it...
If it were me, id order a bit of damplifier pro or dynamat and do some sound deadening while the interior is stripped. Should make for a nicer ride while your already doing most of the work

That blows dude. Literally! Anyways, it shouldn't be too hard, but if I were doing it I would consider putting some sound deadening material down there. You will definitely have to pull up the seats, and probably some of the trim, so like the others said, be careful with the seats and the airbag lights and all.

Pulling the seats is maybe a 10 minute job for both the front seats and the back just FYI.
The front seats are attached with 4 bolts each (pretty easy to access them too) and the rear bottom is just a little push tab thing that releases it. The rear backs remove with 1-3 bolts (might get by with only removing the one center one)
Definitely try a few other products if they are cheap but just know that if it comes down to pulling out the carpet it shouldnt be a terrible task at all.
