I think the V8 is a great car as I said TIME and TIME again.
I just think that if you want the most performance you can get now and in the future, and money is not an issue, that the GT is a better choice.

Both cars are great folks!

Pascal, sorry this thread turned out this way. You know I rarely "get into it" on the forum and I'm sure you know I was not trying to do so here.
I'm sorry for the trouble all of this has caused and for my part in it. I hope others can apologize as well.
This forum is not meant to be this way and there is no reason why you should have to step in.
Unfortunately it seems people get VERY sensitive when it comes to the V6 V8 discussion, and some regard any remark favoring the other as
"bashing" towards their choice.

I'm not going to tell or ask you how to edit my or anyone else's posts. Nice Pony wishes you to delete all the "dumb ***" replies to his posts, but he failed to
realize that saying other people's posts were "dumb ***" and that trying to have you edit the posts HIS way is a pretty "dumb ***" thing to do in itself lol.

A bit of a joke on that so don't get your panties in a wad again Nice Pony.

But seriously, I think Pascal knows how do his his job

^exactly my thoughts, I absolutely had no intentions of causing a V6/V8 debate. OP, if you have any questions on either setup let me know, they are both great but in the end you have to drive them both to make the best educated decision.

Since Pascal appreciated my common sense I'll give you some more.

Objectivity-things that are based on numbers and can be measured

Subjectivity - things based on personal opinion and cannot be measured only given a relative 'importance' that can be based on objective things.

See up there where you say "I just think" you should just stop there, thats subjective. Then you go on to suggest what the OP is going to want, which is an assumed opinion, which has no objective value. This leads to your conclusion that the v8 is better, so with no objective reasoning you say its better.

The remark of you favoring the v8 shows subjectivity, this thread specifically is looking to give objective things to the OP, you give some but mostly opinion, which wasn't asked for.

Every car above basic transportation is a want (some people just having a car is a want and not a need). So there is definitely subjectivity when it comes to buying a car. What you cannot do is tell someone they will regret a decision later, you can say what you felt, but you cannot apply your opinion as a fact. This is why people get upset. If you said "I bought a v6, I regretted it so I got a v8" no one would care, because who is to argue with your personal opinion when it applies to yourself.

Nice Pony was giving his personal opinion as it applied to himself, and you basically told him he was wrong.

If you need any more information on the difference between an objective and subjective point of view, I'll be here all day.

The reason any 'unanswered' question ala "v6 vs v8" continues and gets heated is because some people are unaware that their opinion isn't the only one the in universe, from both sides.

EDIT: and prodding nice pony after pascal already cleaned up is just a dick move.

Thank you...
If you stuck to the infos and left out the off topic crap, that post still be there.
Same with Blacksmoke posts.
Especially after I told you guys to knock it off.

I don't have anything against you, even though I sense that you think I do, but I always catch you in this childish arguing non sense.
I won't hide the fact that I think you're an asset to the V6 community with all the infos to back it up but it pains me to see you indulge in personal jabs with other members so often.
I don't really care that you (or someone else) do really, but it's not about me either.
I don't think it's fair to the OP to turn his thread in a boxing match, it doesn't reflect good publicity to new comers.
I'm sure the guy is mature enough to miss all that BS anyway.

You know there's no way I think you have anything against me right?
I hope you know that! I think you were speaking to the new guy when you said that.

But just in case.... I've known you a long time on this forum and you are a great person!
I would never think such a thing of you.

Sorry for my replies after you asked us both to knock it off.
I just felt like he was still acting as if I was bashing the sixxer and bashing him personally while trying to make me out to be some bad guy that was a jerk and a V6 hater, which I was not.
I should have just held my tongue though regardless.
It did not make the matter any better no matter who was doing what.

Here you go, you knew what the problem was gonna be.
This was the thing I was trying to avoid when I said knock it off... being here now, totally off topic and p#ssing away another thread on BS.
Objectivity is key and it should stay that way, despite the fact that typing will never be as efficient as a real conversation man to man.
I also don't have anything against you or NicePony or anyone else, I want things to run smoothly so new comers can post again and enjoy the hobby.

OK, I'm going for a bike ride now, and see if you all can keep this thread from derailing any further...

I have no problem admitting my wrong doing in that I should have just let it go regardless of his remarks.
I hope you accept my apology friend.

Seriously, have you ever just let something go?

He literally only said that you can make a v6 perform better than a stock v8, which is a true statement. You fought him on this by saying a modded v8 would beat a modded v6 (true depending on mods) but then used this information to basically say its pointless to buy a v6 to mod, which then he got heated (a little over the top, but a few appropriate responses). Read it yourself. It was all fairly much objective or personal opinions, you are the only one who is fighting for your opinion to be 'right'.

I was saying regardless of what he did that what I did was wrong.
If I was fighting for my opinion to be right I would not have been apologizing.

GOOD GRIEF. THE ARGUMENT HAD ENDED.

I was apologizing for my part in it. DO YOU HAVE TO POINT OUT EVERY SINGLE THING YOU THINK I AM DOING WRONG and accuse me of things?
Even in a friggin apology?

The whole reason and ONLY reason I said "regardless of his remarks", was to make the point that even if what I thought he did was wrong regardless of whether what he did was right or wrong... I was not right in what I DID.
It was NOT a shot at his statments!

EDIT: and prodding nice pony after pascal already cleaned up is just a dick move.
So is prodding me after apologizing to Pascal for my part.
I don't see anyone else apologizing for their part do you?
And BOTH people said things they should not have.
Oh and poking your head into other's arguments is also a dick move, ESPECIALLY when it is over. Congrats.

BTW...
I NEVER said or implied modding a V6 was useless. I said the v8 had more potential.
You are talking about letting stuff go yet you are bringing up the whole damn argument AGAIN!
Your making yourself just as much at fault as the two people that were arguing.

You want to talk about letting something die yet you are sitting here instigating more crap.

IT IS DONE. THE ARGUMENT IS FINISHED. I did nothing wrong in my last post no matter
what your opinion is. I WAS LETTING IT GO.
Now can YOU let it go?

I'm not as much accusing you of anything, as I am trying to show you the difference between an objective point of view and a subjective one. An objective point of view you can argue, a subjective one you can't. You can't "prove" to someone that your opinion is right.

Also, as much as you think it helps saying 'the v6 is great' does not make the ultimate conclusion of 'the v8 is better' excusable. Thats like saying "with all due respect, you suck."

State your opinion, give your reasoning and move on. If you see someone with a different opinion, give the objective points of your reasoning that lead to your opinion. If they don't value things the same way you do, you won't agree, but thats okay, everyone is different.

I know you are one of those people that want to get the last word, because you keep giving your opinion and THEN telling everyone else to stop.

Nobody is trying to tell you that a v6 is better, only that its okay to have a different opinion based on the facts.

I literally don't want to have a 'side' in this, I am only trying to promote a civil discussion.
