I'm thinking any discussion relating to proving or disproving your own, or someone else's post in this thread needs to stop from every direction. It doesn't matter if you have good intentions in mind or not, the thread just needs to move on. Nobody wins here.

@Blacksmoke- Don't feel a need to respond again, you've apologized and that's what matters By the way, sometime post a thread with pictures of the new GT500! I'd love to see more of it!

@Pony- You have one hell of a V6 man, just saying. It's true that a hell of a lot of people would envy all the things you've done to that car

LOL, you two are still at it?
Blacksmoke, I accept your apologies as I know you're a good member.
Just don't make a habit of this schit.

By the same token, LostBoyz is still right: Meaning...Nice Pony was right, you just red him wrong and he took it personally from there, which escalated to more BS.
That's why I got on his case as well.

You guys should have taken this through PMs.

Aaaaaanyways... I think we p#ssed the OP for good now.

Also, as much as you think it helps saying 'the v6 is great' does not make the ultimate conclusion of 'the v8 is better' excusable. Thats like saying "with all due respect, you suck."

State your opinion, give your reasoning and move on. If you see someone with a different opinion, give the objective points of your reasoning that lead to your opinion. If they don't value things the same way you do, you won't agree, but thats okay, everyone is different.

I know you are one of those people that want to get the last word, because you keep giving your opinion and THEN telling everyone else to stop.

Nobody is trying to tell you that a v6 is better, only that its okay to have a different opinion based on the facts.

I literally don't want to have a 'side' in this, I am only trying to promote a civil discussion.
Oh I see. You are trying to promote a civil discussion by bringing up arguments and trying to point out what you think people have done wrong even when an argument is over and even trying to find something wrong in a person's apology. I get it.

I apologized for my part and the argument had ended and I had said not tried to point out anything the other person did in my apology yet I am the one who is trying to keep giving my opinion.

No... truth is YOU are wanting YOUR opinion to be heard on what YOU think people should and should not do. I had apologized and was letting it die yet you wanted to keep talking about it.

Now you are defending yourself and trying to make yourself look like some wise mediator and judge that knows all.
Asking everyone to stop? The only person I asked to stop was YOU because even though the argument was over... you wanted to keep digging stuff up.

I am done with this thread and I will let anyone say what they want and keep the argument going if they want.
I APOLOGIZED.
I TRIED TO LET IT GO.
YOU ARE TRYING TO KEEP IT GOING.

I simply wanted to apologize for MY part in the argument and let it die. But for some reason you want to keep giving your all-wise advice even when the argument was done.

No you weren't trying to help. You were trying to portray yourself that way and portray yourself in a certain manner so that others might think you were some kind of wise, good samaritan... when you ended up being guilty of doing exactly what the people in the original argument were doing and doing some of the exact things you were accusing me of.

You revived the whole thing after it was dead.
You can tell I am one of those people who want the last word huh?
Seems like you want the last word.

I'm done with this thread. This is RIDICULOUS.
Say whatever you want. Make yourself the good guy.

I don't give a crapola about the last word.
Like I said this is ridiculous and I'm finished with it.

Again Pascal sorry for my part of the argument.

My boyfriend is actually having this problem right now.
He wants to want a V6, but he is afraid the power won't be enough after he has had it for awhile.
He doesn't really need the MPG, next year we will be living 15 minutes from his job.
And he can afford either one, so you guys who have test driven both what do you think?

Do you 5.0 owners use the 400+ HP everyday?
He test drove the V6 and really liked it.
The dealer that actually had a manual 5.0 wouldn't let him take it out so he couldn't really test drive yet.

I've test driven both, or well actually I test drove the 3.7 and ordered a 5.0 since there wasn't one nearby to test drive at the time.

I of course can't really gauge whether I use all 400HP every day haha, but I always take the car out at least once a day just to drive because I love driving. I don't necessarily go WOT but when I merge onto the local highways I hit the pedal hard, and (to me) I love the feeling much better than I felt in the 3.7. The 5.0 roar to me just sends shivers down my spine every time I take it out and that's what makes the experience for me.

Of course I don't know how your bf feels about it, but for me because I know I'm a low mileage driver, and I had the money for V8 or V6, I decided that to me, the V8 really completes what I had in mind for my dream muscle car. I jumped on it

It's a win-win though. Either way he'll be driving a sweet car. Some days I wonder if I should've gone V6, so I can't say I'm completely devoted to V8 or V6 they both have great qualities, but the V8 for me just rounded it out better.

What you are saying pretty much describes how I think he feels.
He has an SS Cobalt with 300+ whp, so the 3.7 is a step down in power.
The 5.0 is about equal with his car, so I'm kind of afraid he will get the V6 and regret it.

Its between the PP or MCA, or the GT Premium with comfort package.
Side note: has anyone added nav to their 5.0?

Seems like it's getting a little tense in here, but it's ok. Even with the debates, I still see it as receiving some good info from both parties (V8 owners and V6 owners).

Unfortunately after talking to my dealer, my options will probally be slim. Basically, when I return to Germany from Afghanistan, I will only have 5 months left in Germany before I come up on orders to the United States (I haven't been in the States for the past 10 years, only once last year for vacation).

Well anyways, here's the problem. If i place an order on a car i want to build, i have to be in Germany for at least year (on the day of my order) in order for the shipping of the car to be free. Other wise I will have to pay for shipping which will be at least $2,000. So one option that I have is to wait until I get to Germany and just purchase a Mustang they have at any military base in Germany. The problem with that, is that I will have to settle for what ever they have available (basically the model, packages, ect ect).

Or the other option I will have to do, is that I will get a two week vacation from Afghanistan and plan on going to D.C. and New York City. So I may just purchase a Mustang then. But I will have to wait until November 2012 to even get a chance to drive it, and that's way to long and I'm a very impatience person.

But I do have a question, the dealer told me that there were 10 Mustangs available at the Military Auto Sales through out Germany. I asked about a V8, and he told me one that was available. It comes with the side scoop, it's a premium, and a few other things I can't recall at this moment. Anyways, he said the price was about $38,000 but he could probally get it for me for about less than $37,000. Is that a normal price????

Overall, I'm very sure that by the time I get back to Germany, there will be a new shipment of 2012 Mustangs (V6's and V8's) and since I'm one of the few Units that's deployed (meaning, compared to other soldiers that are not deployed, I will have more money in the bank), the competition to buy will be easy for me (hopefully)...

And again, i must say that this forum has been informative. Don't worry about the debates, trust me, I'm going thru worse here in Afghanistan.

Take care and thanks everyone....

I apologize pascal.

I will let Blacksmoke get in the last words as seems to be the norm around here. I could certainly go there again with posts he has made beyond your editing but out of respect for what you have ask I will leave it this time.

As far as how I get into these so called "childish" arguments, it generally starts with very "Subjective", inaccurate information that I try to clear up with good accurate Objective information, than get jumped on like a pack of wild dogs for doing so and come back fighting. I think I will try to stay in the technical post where people want to listen and learn. I will not post any more Objective information or anything else in this thread.

I have a lot of great Objective information on both the V6 and V8 since my son and I have one of each and we are both way into pretty much every modification under the sun on these include developing and marketing after market parts for others to bolt on and we do virtually all our own work. I would never dream of taking my car to a mechanic for anything with the exception of developing a tune for the FI. I would have given blood back in the day to have a resource like this to goto for information on how too work on my car but it is shocking to me how many guys lack the skills or desire to learn too do the work on there Mustang, or cars in general, themselves and instead job out virtually everything always worried about the cost. Tools are really cheap as compared to labor and knowledge is basically free. Until I got involved with Internet forums I never realize what a huge issue this is. These Mustangs are about a easy as any car I have ever seen to work on and for the most part you just have to swap parts out as rebuilding parts is also a thing of the past. One guy even went so far as to say he would never do any work or modifications on his car himself so if he got in a accident he could blame it on the mechanic or installer! That is just sad! When you see my post in technical sections I will always encourage you guys to buy some tools and learn to do your own work. Personally I also just flat don't trust anyone else to touch my cars with a wrench.

I'm done...

How was that for an off topic rant? LOL

Your options are kind of crappy right now it seems.
I guess just think about it this way, if it has something you don't want you can always mod it later.
$37k seems really high, unless it has a lot of options or is a California Special.
I'm sure you will be happy with whatever you get.

Good luck, and thank you for your service I hope you end up with what you want.

@Pascal: Don't worry, I'm good. In fact, it is entertaining. Hell, there's only so much I can do here, so this forum my highlight of the day.

@Tanner: Thanks. But yes, my options seems a little crappy now, but I hope for the best by the time I get back in which I'm sure there will be a new shipment of Mustangs by then with various options.
