Flew over a curb
S197 front ends are made from aluminum foil.
They are designed to crumple and absorb
the impact in a crash.
Crawl under and have a look see for messed
up paint on the suspension components.
Or drive her a few thousand miles and check
the tires for wear patterns that would indicate
front end suspension damage.
But first sign up for a driving school before you 'lurch'
into a local storefront while parking and kill someone.
Maybe trade that manual for an automatic?
BTW, there is no such thing as an 'alignment' for the S197.
You can check it, but you cant adjust it without 'slotting'
mounting holes according to the Ford Workshop Manual.
If the suspension or the mounting points are out of alignment,
thats bad news. The suspension component can be replaced
but if the uni-body is bent, its uni-body straightening time for you.
I dont recommend the 'slotting' method.

Another nice thing about the TR6060, it also has a reverse lockout if wired correctly so you have to step on the brakes to engage reverse...that is, if you're paying attention ;-)
