Default Camshaft Position Sensor P0340/P0344

Camshaft Position Sensor P0340/P0344

A friend and I did an engine swap a couple weeks ago, and everytime the car starts up i'm getting a P0340, and occaisonally I'll get a P0344. I have just recently replaced the alternator (about a week ago). I did not notice that one of the three camshaft position sensors was detached, so i plugged it back in. But it seems like they are all three connected at this point.

What would be the recommended action here? To purchase a camshaft position sensor and try to swap them one at a time to see if one of them is not working? The check engine light comes on immediately when starting, and i use the tuner to clear the code each time.

Has anyone had an issue with the camshaft position sensors going out?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Could be as simple as a loose wire or a broken wire.

You sure a wire wasn't pinched when the new engine was installed?

That is a good point a wire could have been pinched when removing the old engine/installing the new one. It was a like for like swap, except this one's bored out a bit forged rods/pistons/GT500 crank/arp head/main studs/moroso oil pan. We looked at the connections but didn't 100% check all the lines. We'll do this today and I'll report back. Thanks for the tips!

Does anyone know if there is a test we can do with a Volt Meter?
