I had a supercharged v6, and my friends would give me a hard time about it. I had a good opportunity to get a GT and I grabbed it, and now my friends give me a hard time about the color, if I got a GT500KR or Boss 302, my friends would give me a hard time about the price or the rear bumper, etc etc.

Point is, most of the time it is all in fun, anyone else ragging on your car is either jelous, or just an idiot. Just ignore them, they make themselves look stupid 9 out of 10 times.

 

Advice for being a sixxer- walk loudly and hide your small stick. srsly. Ive done some cosmetic mods including a type iv hood. Bought a single boomtube axelback for $100

So now. People see the car and go OHSHI despite the fact its a simple NA v6. Do they ask to race? Yes. Do I? No. Let them think what they want based on the look and sound of the car. And I dont give them a reason to think anything else about it by racing. I know some of you will say hey thats no fun. But its better than looking like a deusche or better yet getting yourself killed

Always a classic when someone spells "spellcheck" wrong haha. That post was painful to me too though...it was a prime example of why this fight continues, because people decide to buck up and get defensive about it.

 

Ive owned a 06 V6 for 2 years, until some idiot in a toyota carolla decided to rear end me in a dead stop at 45 mph. I now own a 08 V8 and could never be any happier. I do miss my 4.0 from time to time. The only thing that survived the accident was my blackout panel, which now sits on my GT

 

I can tell you I wouldn't get a GT if I had the money (I did have the money actually). I bought my v6 because I love the style of the cars, it handles great, and I drive a lot. If I raced, I wouldn't buy a new car. Do I want to be able to drive a car with 100 more hp everyday? Somedays, but it certainly isn't worth it for the gas and insurance bump. If I already had a DD and I was buying a car for the weekends? Maybe.

Who gives a flying **** what people think about your purchases? Likewise, why give a flying **** about someone elses purchases. This is grade school **** and who had the cooler shoes/clothes/games etc. People value things differently than others and haters gunna hate.

 

my coworker was giving me a hard time the other day when i was looking at superchargers for my v6. he said i should just take the 4500 and trade in my car and get a GT. but it doesnt matter. my mustang is faster than the car i had before. and it is a mustang so it doesnt matter. but this is coming from a guy that almost had his GT paid off and instead of waiting a year to pay it off and buy a supercharger, he went and bought a gt500. yeah..

 

The only place I get crap for having a V6 is on the internet. When people see my car in person they just say wow

 

Eh there aren't many people on this forum that are stupid about the V6 vs V8 thing.
I haven't had much negativity except from a friend with a NE GT.
He is always saying, "I would be jealous if your car had a 4.6"
Yeah well he is jealous anyway. He has to make himself feel better some way.
If I could trade my car for a GT, I really don't know if I would do it, but seeing as how it would be a cost increase its just not worth it.

And yes the 4.0 is considered an under powered V6, but the 4.6 is considered an under powered V8. Either way you'll get made fun of by someone.

 

Maybe this is just me but it seems that you're trying to hide ur v6 and make it look like a GT. So is it because ur ashamed or...?
