Advice on brakes
I need some help with brake options on a dual duty 2010 GT. When we got the car it came with the optional "Track Pack", but this did not include any type of brake upgrade. We later installed Ford Racing's handling package which includes lower springs, shocks, and swaybars. It presently has 19" wheels and we'll probably get a set of *18's for the track.(?) Now what about brakes? (calipers and rotors) Should we be looking for something used that will improve the braking for the next year or so, or go into hawk for new stuff? Money is an issue. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

For road track use on a budget:
- stock rotors and calipers
- Brake cooling ducts (check Quantum or Agent 47)
- DOT 4 brake fluid (ATE, motul, etc)
- SS lines
- Track Pads (Hawk HT-10, DTC 60 or 70, Carbotech XP10, XP8)
Cheapest upgraded calipers are the Brembos from the GT500 - decent caliper but consumables cost $.
Wilwood and Stoptech both make some nice systems - the cost of pads for Wilwood is really cheap and on the track you go thru pads pretty quickly. Before buying 18" rims, make sure they will clear aftermarket calipers.
