Default Damp Air Filter... Problem?

So today I took the pony for a spin in the rain. It was a moderate storm. I wanted to make sure I wouldnt have water pooling in the FRPP heat shield bucket beneath the CAI, as I have an open Cervinis Type IV hood. No pooling. But a 2" x 2" area if the filter did get wet. Is this a problem, or am I being paranoid?

Is the filter dry or oiled? Is the paper visibly wet?

I believe the FRPP CAI is oiled. Not positive. Should prolly figure that out.

It felt moist to the touch. It looked as if water had beaded on the filter. I could not see a visibly dark wet patch.

As long as you're not seeing actual damp paper media, you're ok. Any water that gets on the pleats should be shed by the oiled media and should not penetrate to the point of being a concern. You COULD always disconnect the filter from the tube and check for signs of moisture intrusion on the INSIDE.

No moisture inside the filter save oil films/ residues

If its properly oiled, it should shed
water like water off a seals back...
Unless its 100% submerged, then it
WILL SUCK WATER.
The tiny amount that makes it past
the oil film (if any) should not matter.
