Default Does anyone elses' hood...?

While driving down the highway at about 80+ mph my hood starts to lift up. Does anyone else have/had this problem. Im sure it just because they swapped to a lighter hood on the 05 but the last thing I want is for it to fly off.

I have had my 05 to 140 and hood stayed on. If you have an after market hood you need hood pins.

MINE ALSO LIFTS ON DRIVER SIDE ABOUT HALF WAY DOWN.I ADDED HOOD PINS FOR BACK UP SAFETY AS WELL AS THE STOCK LATCHES AND WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DO THE SAME (THEY LOOK COOL TOO)

Talk about retro design. Even the "bugs" are retro!!
My 289 '66 used to try to fly as the speed increased. At interstate speeds the big open grill could only either swallow (and pass under the car) or block tons of air. So, to be at peace with the cosmos, think of it as a "feature" not a "flaw" and you will be one with your retro-grill and your retro-grill will be one with you.....

Hood pins do look good, but they also suck. Go ahead! Drill two big holes in your shiney new hood.....

The hood pins do look sweet...But when it comes time to drill those holes, i'll probably be more nervous than a prostitute in church....I havent had the hood problem and i'm had mine up to about 140..Although it was night time on a dark interstate and the car itself being black, I probably didnt notice it if it did happen...

When you put the hood pins on did it stop the hood from lifting any or did you do just for the extra safety. I think I may end up going with an after market hood any way but in the mean time don't want this one flying off.

I been 145+ and didn't notice any hood related problems but I was paying attention to other things at that time.

I am thinking about an aftermarket hood. Hood pins do look cool. [8D]

Why would an aftermarket hood be different from a stock hood? They use the same hardware.

Oh no. I want a scoop. and the hood pins look cool.

I knew someone with a Dodge Monico. That had 3 latches. (left + center+ right)
there was no way that hood was coming off as long as you shut it correctly (sometimes
was hard to tell if 1 side wasn't latched).

This is definitely a problem with the 5th Generation Mustangs. When driving at high speeds, an extreme amount of pressure builds up under the hood. In fact, at the Grand Am Cup, the hood actually blew off of the #55 Mustang ('05 Steeda?). Fortunately, no one was injured and the hood was found several feet away in the grass with minimal dents.
