Suspension/rims question, need help fast!
Trying to decide if I should buy the 19" GT500 rims american muscle has on sale until midnight tonight. Long story short I have the money but I probably shouldnt spend it right now. I need new tires for my 17's very badly so im looking at spending at least $400 just to be drivable.
So here are my questions:
Is $1334 for the 19" black/machined GT500 rims a very good deal or can I find them close to that price down the road?
How much do you guys estimate i could sell my 17" silver painted bullits for? They are in great shape but needs tires
If I buy some springs (say Ebaich sportlines Estimated drop: Front - 1.6" Rear - 2.0") would I need to buy shocks and struts immediately or would I be fine without it for a while? I wouldnt mind sticking with 17s for a while longer if I would lower my car.
Anyone got pics of the new gt500 style installed? I was fairly set on chrome 18s but didnt find a style I really wanted. The gt500s look great on american muscle though.
The only thing I dislike about the gt500 package thats on sale is that they are only 8.5" wide

Spending money that you already aren't sure you should be spending, on wheels that evidently don't fully meet what you want . . . sounds like regrets in the making.
I'd hold off at least long enough to get that midnight-tonight time pressure monkey off your back. Then spend some time deciding what you really want, and what you'd be able to settle for without regretting it later.

I do still need to figure out what I can manage to sell my 17s for. That might make a big difference in what rims I can buy.
And if I can get away with no shocks and struts for a while I may lower soon.

I'm with Norm on this, not sure if you should buy them if you can't afford it right now.
CC has good prices but they charge shipping also and don't forget the TPMS, both AM and CC have forum discount but you have to go through a sales rep on this site for the discount. CC also doesn't have immediate access to stock inventory so they can't tell you if they have it right then or not.
I had some issues with CC with a back order that I wasn't notified of properly and issues with getting my order canceled and refund. I ended up going to a local Kauffman Tire and got everything I wanted bought and installed the day I went up there.
As for the resale on your wheels and tires, check to see online how much they are going for in your area and it will give you an idea for what you can get for them. Check out Craigslist for your area.
