Polished aluminum or chrome Bullitts questions
OK guys I found a set of what the guy said was polished chrome 18" bullitts on craigslist for what I think is a good deal they are like new very well taken care of. the tires are no good but he only wants 450 for the set new lugs and all I have a few questions before I pull the trigger. Are these the same wheels that are on the 2007 Shelby GT, are they aluminum or chrome like he said and will they be a direct replacement for my v6 guess what I mean will there be any fitment or clearence issues? I have 17" painted bullitts on there now and dont have any problems but I would hate to buy them to come to find out the calipers hit or something like that.

They're 18x8.5, which is plenty for a stock V6. I have no clearance issues but the clearance between the caliper and the wheel spoke is VERY close, the width of a sheet of paper close. But they fit and work good, i'm running 255/45-18's all around. However, I only payed $300 for mine. (just the rims) And if the tires are worthless why pay extra? And they came on the Shelby GT's, Cali Specials, and as an option on the GT premiums.

upgraded from my stock 17" to these. i have no clearence issues at all.
however, there is a ford publication out there that states to add/change steering limiting shims in the gear to avoid tires touching anything when turned in all the way (which imo one shouldn't do anyways). apparently there were different factory setups for 16/17/18" rims.
but again, i have no clearence issues.
as stated before the (semi gloss) polished (and clearcoated) rims were stock on cs's, shelby gt's and optional on all.
CHROME versions were also available as genuine accessories, probably fairly rare and not sold that often.
i prefer the semi polished look but wouldn't dismiss chrome ones too.
there are part #'s on the inside of the rims, stock wheels should say something like "ch" or so if they were factory chromes and something like "pol" for the polished ones, not exactly sure.
btw, i paid $780 for excellent rims w like new tires.

Have those on mine. As said above they're polished aluminum, 18x8.5 and on the GT Premiums, Shelby GTs and the GT/CS. I think they look great for a factory wheel but I'm going to get rid of them someday
