Default Suggestions for 05' GT Tranny?

Well, im looking to add some muscle to my muscles... my TR-3650 is still in great condition, but im adding a few items to my 05 GT2. Im going to be getting close to or past the rated torque on my tranny, so im looking for a new good tranny and 1/4 gears, rated to at least 380 ft. Lbs. & dependable on the strip and street.

No specific price range, i dont want to put a POS in my car. Period.

Somebody told me about switching to a 6 automatic performance tranny but, im a standard kinda person... cant beat throwing it in second and pissing off a diesel.

New here, but i use the forum alot, figured id join..lol.
Thanks!

The 3650 will be fine.... There is guys out there with supercharged GT's with close to 500rwhp without problems.... Hell there is even guys with turbo GT's that still use the 3650, the torque rating really doesn't determine how much power/torque the transmission will hold. There are a lot of other factors as well.

I agree, I wouldn't worry about the trans you'll probably burn the clutch way before you grenade the trans. However if it does go boom JPC makes a nice swap in kit for a Tremec 6spd

Well clutch replcements are a bitch....but i can do them,...actually I ordered a terminator a while back to replace...they accidently sent two

Ill run it with this tranny and do 5 runs about 30 apart on 95 octane and see if it handles.

And to the first guy, a GT2 just a different GT... modded in factory, certain companies will contract with ford to make limited quantities of cars with certain upgrades for appearance or performance. Like I dont have a factory looking deck, i can change the colors of all interior lights R G B, itcame with classic shaker system,...etc. I got it new sent to my dealer from cali, first thing i did was remove all but 2 of the 6 cats.

Must be. I only had 2 factory cats, and I promptly replaced those.

Yeah, 6. Came from Cali.... That's all we can think of... Is they put them in for Cali... Had a buddy's who had the same set up, his was a '97.

Left two, just enough back pressure to matter.
