Now tell us what really happened. Were you in the car? I figure he was speeding like a demon, traffic slowed and he couldn't stop in time.
My brother is 18...little inexperienced but he wasn't speeding he was staying with the flow of traffic witnesses said. I wasn't in the car but there were 5 cars who pulled in with people who witnessed the accident. Inexperience is probably what caused him not to be able to know how to properly stop fast enough without rear ending someone. He tried swerving to miss the car in front but was too late. That is why one side where the headlight is missing is screwed and the other isn't. I Guess you live and learn...def will be a learning experience for him....DON'T DRIVE SO CLOSE TO PEOPLE REAR ENDs

Just to clarify...parents didn't give him the car he got a great deal on it for 18k from the principal at the school my dad works for. He is paying the note and insurance.

Well it only took one time for me, but I ran a 1989 chevy spectrum into the back of a camaro, in the rain.

I blame your parents. No one would have written an insurance policy on him and that car, at least not one he could afford. I doubt anyone would have financed an 18 year old either.

If your parents finance him another vette, well, they be damn stupid!

I was driving down the road thinking about this thread. I found it to be a little ironic that the moment he looked down, is when the tahoe slammed its brakes. but now that I see an 18 year old was driving it.. I see he wasn't the primary driver.. but was this his car? I don't know about you guys but I know my shifter like my ****, its second nature.

Blame my parents all you want...he was able to finance it himself. The bank financed it for him because he got such a great deal. Hard to convince someone over the internet that your telling the truth.

Everyone messes up shifting every once and awhile man. Not everyone is perfect.
