Default PlastiDipping Pony Emblem HELP

On the stock v6 grill on a mustang does the chrome mustang emblem come off alone, or do you need to remove the grille itself? The reason i ask is that i'm thinking of PlastiDipping it and making it black.

nevemind.. looks like it would be easier to just tape off the grill and put some news paper on the body then just plastidipping it.

Is that how you guys did it?

This is how I'm thinking of doing it too. I've been told this is the way to go also.
