Default Whipple HO kit not going full boost?

Hey guys, i was hoping someone could help me out with this. It's been a while since I got on it and I noticed that my boost is only going up to 5 psi instead of 10 according to my boost gauge....is there anything that I can do to check out why this might be happening? I'm running the stock FRPP tune. I've read that it could be the actuator or it could be a vacuum leak, but I'm not really sure how I could check these. I checked for DTC codes, but everything is coming up clear.

Thanks! Any help is greatly appreciated...

i think it may be a problem with your boost gauge, there are rarely
issues with the actuator itself.

I guess that doesn't really surprise me considering I've had issues with it not lighting up, but that seemed like it was a separate issue from the mechanical aspect of the gauge. The car's performance doesn't seem different, but like I mentioned before, I don't really go out that often with it. (I don't really push it too much because I haven't really any mods for the handling - its kind of fun knowing that my car is too fast for itself in a way lol)

I'd suspect the boost gauge first, but if you are feeling a notable difference in performance and it turns out that you really are only making 5psi, I'd check the condition of the belt. They stretch and slip more as they get older.

Thanks guys - I think I'm just going to try getting a new gauge to see what happens. The belt seems okay. It squeaks a little when I start it up, but it's always done that. (I've had the whipple for a little over a year now) I just went out and checked the tension, and it seems pretty firm. It bends a little but doesn't feel loose or anything. If it was loose, would it be an inconsistent issue?

I haven't noticed any drop in performance - I guess the times I usually get on it are when I'm getting into traffic and have other things to look at besides the gauge lol. It didn't dawn on me that the gauge could go bad.

Thanks again...
