Default Want to paint mufflers

I have the stock mufflers and I would like to paint the body of the mufflers black. They sit too low and I don't like that you can see the mufflers below the bumper line. I bought high temp paint from the auto parts store, I wanted to know if there was anything I needed to do to help the paint stick. What should I clean them with and any other advice would be great. Thanks.

Just make sure they are clean, dull, and dry.

- a good degreaser like 'simple green' works well, clean everything off well.

- then completely dry them.

- then multiple thin light coats of High temp spray paint.

Thank you.

I would love to just get the bumper replaced, as someone tapped it and left a couple nice marks. But $9 for a can of paint fits the bugdet much better right now. I do like how yours looks.
