Got keyed...
Well considering my school has a security guy whose job it is to patrol the parking lot in a car that is owned by the school for this purpose. He decides instead to sit over in the corner of the parking lot and sleep. The school is not liable, but they are responsible.
And to answer everyone's debate about whether police would come out, we have our officer on campus that would do the report. I referred to him earlier in this thread. Some people might have read it wrong, but he is a badged officer who shows up everyday to our school and works his job.

If you have to park closer to the security cameras, consider getting something like this to protect your doors;

Have definitely thought about that! The thing is, they got away so easily the first time which will make them think they can do it again. What would be good is if they key me again but we caught them and made them pay for both!
I don't know about the others but I for one don't appreciate being talked to like some six year old. You can take your condescending tone/attitude and stick it where the sun don't shine.

And then get a concealed carry permit when you go to college...
I not saying take the law into your own hands, but you could easily figure out out. In high school, like most places, the walls have ears.
Just figure it out and see how you can work a angle to get them legally of course, that is how the cops do it. They arrested Al Capone on Tax Evasion charges, not bootlegging

CaptainRon,
No one said a police report could not be filled out, but in my experience when someone smacked my wife's SUV, we had to call the incident in over the phone and a police report number was assigned. An officer never came because it was in an HEB parking lot. Luckily the other driver accepted responsibility and we took care of it through her insurance, but that is the point. The arrival of an officer may not happen, so an actual investigation is never accomplished. Doesn't mean you won't get a police report to use in filing with insurance.

I work for HEB and unfortunately I live in the RGV where half the people down here most likely would just take off. Good thing is I'm within reasonable walking distance from work and I just leave my new 2012 at home and walk it.
I guess it may depend on what region one lives at because here, the police would come to the parking lot for the report.

Oh, ok. yes I thought it was a private security guard. I guess i would have chewed him out if he was outside watching the lot and my car got keyed..
