What are you guys doing with $1000 deductible and above??? Especially on non collision scenarios...
Is your driving record so bad that you don't have a choice?
If so, drive a POS until you can get a decent deductible.
No offense OP, I'm just saying...
Mine's 500 right now. I was told that even one accident/traffic ticket (with me at fault of course) would raise that deductible to $1000 for the next few years... Mine even went up after my car was vandalized while I wasn't around. Chances are, the people with those high deductibles have one tiny spot somewhere on their records that ins. companies are slobbering over.
Insurance companies man, I tell ya...

+1 On that... At work one day, really early in the morning, my car burst into flames(turned out to be an engine wire harness malfunction according to fire dept) and then a few months later I had an at fault accident... They more than doubled my rates and I had been with them forever.. So now I have deductibles that are high... I know that the accident was my fault but the car catching on fire shouldn't hurt me, but it does... EVERY MONTH
