Teenagers can get their licenses suspended for texting at the wheel in Indiana. But that doesn't usually do a damn thing because the moment you need them, cops are nowhere to be found.

I was on a decently narrow road. Speed limit was 50, and this car in front of me was doing 35. It was a passing zone, and I had promised my brother that I'd be at his house in 15 minutes. So I did the obvious thing. Right at the moment I was along side of her, she started coming over into the other lane! Turned out to be a teenage girl texting. I stuck my left wheels in the grass, laid on the horn, dropped into second, and floored it.

I was probably - about 3 seconds - from slamming into a fence row.

Texting should get your license revoked. Period.

I was rear ended last weekend by some chick not paying attention and following way too close.

Luckily I was driving the Tahoe, not a scratch.

She messed up her bumper and buckled her hood..... told her too bad...not gonna report it.

Everytime I have a near miss collision, it's a woman (young one) on the cell phone!
Getting tired of this cr@p too.

Having said that, the nastiest wrecks are caused by men still...

Tannie, please don't take my head off yet.
Lol I suppose I'll let you slide, Pascal.
I can't argue that many young girls are jackasses when it comes to driving.

Just last month my car was rear ended by an older model BMW. I was at a stop. Idiot wasn't paying attention. My bumper cover was messed up and the reinforcement was bent in a bit. His hood was bent up, front cover was jacked up and he was sandwiched in between my car in front and a big FJ cruiser behind him. He was a younger guy, 22 yrs old. BMW didn't want to start. His insurance paid for everything. That's what happens when you don't pay attention!!!!

Only person who has rear ended me (arby's drive through, no damage) was an old man. Stereotypes are just about the laziest form of blame game.

After reading this and other "rearended" threads... I am really tempted to keep my cars in the garage and NEVER let them out!! I am always worried when I see someone coming up behind me at a light...I flash my sequentials on and off to catch their attention...the other worry is loosing my ducks if I do ever get hit...dragging them out and fu**ing them up!

The only other accident I've had where someone ran into me was years ago with my full size custom Dodge van. Was at a McDonalds, sitting in the parking lot waiting for someone to move. Old guy walks out right past my van, gets in his car, throws it in reverse and backs into me. He got out and said "I never saw you" - yeah, full size van is pretty hard to see if you take the time to look back. When the cops got there they said "Fred, what happened this time?" so obviously he was known in the area.
