Default Wheel spacers ???

So. I read the thread on how to paint your stock wheels. I got black caliper paint for it. My question is, has anyone ever used wheel spacers. I want my wheels about an inch further out than they are now. Spending money on go fast parts right now, not ready to buy new wheels yet.

I ran wheel spacers for a while on my 350z. they were 25mm. they wore the wheel bearings out after about a year. maybe it wasn't the spacers fault, but I attribute it to that.

your mileage may vary. something else of note - most chain tire stores will not touch your car with spacers on them. some sort of potential liability issue if a wheel pops off

When I bought my car used, it already had the wheel spacers on it. I've never experienced any issues with the spacers. I've had NTB and Goodyear replace my tires and they never ran into any issues.

My tire place will have no problem with it. I just think the look of the wider stance is better. Right now my tires sit about an inch and a half inside the fender. I don't want them to stick out, just come out a little more than where their at now....... I like the look of yours kevinmalec

how do you know your tire place will have no problem with it? I would check with them first. you can definitely find a place that doesn't care.. butttt:

both discount tire and les schwab (not that I use either of them) have policy written to prevent them from touching a car with wheel spacers. there is a huge potential liability there and room for a bunch of he-said she-said if they were to touch any of your lug nuts and a wheel popped off and caused an accident. suddenly they could be taking the fall for someone that bought a cheap wheel spacer, or didn't get extended / higher strength wheel studs etc.

Its a small home town tire shop. Been buying wheels and tires there for 22 years. Bought my first ones there when I was 17. We have actually put tires on after hours just to get it done. Not a bit worried about that.

Do it! Don't have any experience with them, but I agree the stock wheels look like crap sitting way inside the fender well.

If you do do spacers, you should get longer studs to go with them.

Thanks! The sumitomo HTRZ II's tires have a tall sidewall and go flush with the outer fender.
BTW, I had one tire replaced at Discount Tire, due to getting a nail lodged near the side wall. They had no issues replacing the tire with the spacers.
