Might have something to do with only mods are K&N CAI and muffler deletes and 3.31 rear gears also.
I-4 and I-95, right? I've made a few runs between Fort Myers, FL and Western MD. Best run was 425.5 miles on the tripometer and equaled 29.2mpg. I have 3.55s though, so with 3.31 I guess it'd be possible to squeek over 30.

I picked up this http://www.americanmuscle.com/mmr-2005gt-tb-spacer.html throttle body spacer for $40 on sale a few months ago from AM. I've never been a big believer in the claims. But, I figured for $40 what the heck. I don't have any power adders on my 10 GT other than a CAI and axle backs (5sp manual, 373 gears). I would be lucky to average 22 MPG during my daily driving which is some city (30%) and the remainder mostly posted 55 speed limit. I drive somewhat mild with the occasional redline shift patterns (maybe twice a week).

When I installed this my mileage immediately jumped to 24 mpg. I made a trip over july 4th about oh 100 miles which was mostly highway, I set my cruise at 72 mph. The outside temp was 104° for the entire trip, so of course I ran with AC on. When I arrived at my destination I had achieved an average of 28.1 mpg. On the way back I dropped to 27.8 in the same 104° heat AC etc.

I just checked today which now includes a couple trips to work (20 miles one way) with about 3 miles of city driving one way and I'm at 25 mpg.

I haven't seen mpgs in the 22 range since installation. I know this will start a barrage of non-believers but this really is the best $40 I've spent. And, I really wasn't expecting any gains whatsoever.

Could also be that because you were expecting to see MPG improvements, your driving style changed subtly enough to provide them.

It's only as accurate as the history of your MPG based on your driving habits.

But, I haven't changed my driving style, nor was I really expecting big improvements as stated. Heck I'll take it though.

It takes months and months of data points to even BEGIN to notice a trend due to a mod. Toss in the variables of how much the % concentration of ethanol is in each fill-up, environmental conditions, yada-yada, it's a wonder we can tell what is affecting our mileage at all.

I love when someone installs something and then is either happy or sad because the VERY NEXT fill-up yields positive or negative results. WRONG. It takes a lot of data to get a good idea of a change in feul mileage and that's AFTER having a lot of before-hand data.

And using the Miles to Empty value on the onboard to tell if you're getting good mileage is NOT worth the effort.
