Default rear gear questions

I got new gears for my axle and am debating in paying the $300 the shop quoted me for install or doing it myself. What does everyone else think? If I pay it will be a while before I have the money for install.

From what I've read elsewhere gear installs are finnicky on our cars. I'd let a shop do it for peace of mind. Call around, you may be able to find cheaper. You never know. Cheap doesn't always = good though.

So looking into buying the installation kit from American muscle it has an option that says bearing for 2010+ 8.8 does that mean it is different than the normal? The axle I have is out of a 2012 so will have to order that?
