Steve Saleen started SMS after Saleen went under and he sold it. So unless you mean they currently don't have anything do with each other, I think you're mistaken.

He actually never sold it ,he left. In April he won his lawsuit and got the Saleen name back. SMS is now Saleen.

This would be correct. Either way, the wheels still look insanely similar. I'm still not sure if I see a definite difference between them.

Saleen doesnt make any parts. They buy everything from vendors, many parts are off the shelf and just rebranded. Other parts are private labeled for them. Not uncommon to find off the shelf parts like this usually private labeled by companies like Roush/Saleen

I don't know about them not making parts...

My Saleen grille (granted my only Saleen part) doesn't appear to share its likeness with any other grille... Perhaps it is manufactured for them, but it was likely designed and engineered by Saleen themselves...
