Before buying my '09 glasstop GT 3 weeks ago, I was looking at a 2005 automatic GT in black at a Honda dealer by my g/f's place and they were asking $12,900 with only 67K miles and it was in great condition(for it's age & mileage). I talked them down to $11,900out the door, but then I remembered the quality issues of the '05 cars(I bought a new GT in Mar 2005) and also the lack of features the later cars have(my '09 has SiriusXM, bluetooth connectivity, iPod/MP3 interface, ambient lighting, HIDs, glasstop). I can't see spending more than $12,000 for the nicest sub 70,000 miles 2005 GT out there. It's a buyers market right now IMO, especially for a sporty type car like a Mustang. Best of luck with your decision

You already have an '06 from what I've read the '05 & '06s gave the same issues. They didn't get the bugs worked out until '07 or '08.

As to your original question, the K&N intake does not require a tune.
