Default FRPP TUNE 11-13 5.0

Anyone have it, like it?

I have the roush CAI which did not require a tune. Can I still use that or would the OE box be required since they supply the K&N?

Is this tune worth it? I know other would be better, but I want to retain factory warranty.

I have it and run it with the same Roush intake... I'm very happy with it so far. The car sounds amazing (Roush helped with that) and there is no more skip shift... The car feels a little faster, but not too much. The throttle response is noticeably better and my warranty has been registered with FRPP since I paid a dealership to install it. I had AM price match another vendor and got it for $280... considerably less than anywhere else. Best thing of all is that my real MPG's have actually improved by 3-4 MPG... Seriously, no joking. This is not a fluke, single tank improvement, but I've been tracking this over the last several weeks. I am extremely pleased and couldn't be happier.

I found it on the site BuyFordRacing.com... They claim to be one of the largest FRPP retailers in the nation. Their price was $289 and free shipping. Since I knew AmericanMuscle.com will price match, I gave them a call and they pricematched. BAM! I got the best price along with the best service from one of the best retailers by going that route.

Good luck!

You could install yourself, but then you would not be able to retain the remainder of your 3/36 factory warranty... Matter of fact, the warranty you get when installed by a Ford dealer isn't actually the factory warranty, but rather a new one just on the engine from FRPP themselves, if one wanted to be technical... But for all intents and purposes, it is for me.

That said, if after checking the FRPP website for dealerships in your area that sell FRPP parts comes up with nada, then i would just pass on the FRPP Procal kit and get a CAI and tune from AM or Brenspeed and call it a day... If you just hated the skip shift like i did, there is a way to disable it by unplugging the solenoid on the transmission (if you have a manual). while i love my new tube from FRPP, if i couldn't get the warranty i would have not done this mod.

Good luck.

I popped 70112 as the zip into the dealer locator on the FRPP website and looks like there's noone within 100 miles of that zip code... Sorry...

That said, since you have an auto (and it was my decision to make) I would send my business to AmericanMuscle since they have their cylinder #8 warranty if I really wanted to tune it now... plus their tune will likely improve the shifting in your transmission.

Do you ever travel in your Mustang? What if you found a dealer at one of your destinations? If you were going to Austin (for example) you could order up everything ahead of time, making sure to bring it with you, and then make a trip to them one morning while you were in town to have them load up the tune and email off the registration.

Just some thoughts.

Good luck,
Don
