oil burning?

Oil temperature and angle of the vehicle can often cause changes in the dipstick indication. I'd check it a good bit more often then twice per oil change if I suspected a problem.

Isn't it only down 1/2 a quart between the hash marks? I'm sure Ford considers that to fall within normal usage.

Anywhere between the hash marks is acceptable. But most folks like to start out with it right at the top line, including myself. For me, it has to do with an easier way to confirm no oil loss since I'll check it sometimes as often as once a week out of habit. Been doing that for about 40 years now.

I'm sure it involves playing an exciting game of cribbage and pinochle.. Maybe even getting a little crazy with a game of shuffleboard.. I know how you AARP members like to party :P haha
