Default Wheel stud broke off

So I broke a front and rear wheel stud on my 2011 GT the other day because I forgot to wipe off some lube on the studs before tightening... guuuh

Anyways, ford oem parts offer 1 type of stud for the front and rear axles but I've seen on some other sites the front and rear studs have different sized knurls.

Can anyone comment on this? I ordered a set of 5 at a local ford dealership and they said there's only 1 type that will fit the front and rear (though their invoice numbers will differ)

fordparts.com shows the same part number for the front and rear studs (1107) but the prices are way different (Front is like $15, rear is like $4) so your guess is as good as mine.

Dealer will be able to steer you right.

So I ordered the front ones and the dealership said the rear studs should be the same. Went to do the installation and the studs fit perfectly in the front but the knurl is too small in the rear.

Anyone know if the size is .614? Can't seem to find that though...

I do believe AM now sells ARP wheel studs for the S197 and there are fronts and rears that i saw recently.

Mm, I was browsing that yesterday too but I'd really like to get studs for cheaper haha, I got 5 replacement front ones for 15$ so I'll give my dealership a call again.

Those ARP studs are also longer than OEM, it's 3in and oem ones are 2.31 overall length.

Remember kids, always wipe off any lubricant such as WD-40 on your lug nuts before you torque wrench it! Otherwise you'll be sorry like me :-p

15 bucks for studs from the dealer? Sounds too cheap to me, i guess you get what you pay for though if you wanna go the cheap route. I'll always trust AM and their products they have to offer.

lol bolts shouldn't cost 15$ each if I'm not taking my car to the track regularly.
I trust AM as well but these bolts are in 95% of s197s so I don't see a problem.
