contipro contacts are **** tires dude, the worst I ever had. I had them on the front of my mustang for a while and they were garbage at everything. They would lock up under braking, under steer like a train turning and it is not a good looking tire at all. Stay with the nittos! Or take a look at the sumotomo HTR ZII. They are awesome tires, grip is great, quiet, and they look awesome. I am running 275/40/18s in the back and 255/45s in the front. Love them!

Thanks for the heads up. But now I have absolutely no idea what to get. I guess I'll just get another set of 275/40 NT555s.

BUT THEY ARE SO SHORT!

275s on coilovers here too, slammed, a lot of scraping but no rub at all.
Wrapped in Hankook Ventus V12 - 275/35/20

How about the Bridgestone Potenza RE050? Those look promising. Thoughts?

So r u saying that your 275/40/18 on a 10" wide rim up front doesn't have a little more than 5mm more inner clearance to fit a 285/40/18 tire? I find that hard to believe. I mean you can have a buddy turn the steering wheel to full lock while you take a measurement to see how much clearance you have. You're not changing wheels, you just need 8mm more clearance, maybe 10 mm more just to be safe.

I was big on Cooper RS-3S tires when I got them (275/40-18), but as I have had them on my car for 10,000 miles now, I would have made another choice... stay away.

The 275 front tires are already closer than I would like. But even if 285/40s fit fine, they would only be 0.3" taller than what I have now. wouldn't realy give me the taller tires i'm looking for.

Anyone running 255 or 265/45/18 tires on a 10 inch rim and/or have pics. I'm just worries that they would look strange being that narrow on that wide a rim.
