As far as that head unit goes that youre looking at, pioneer makes an avhs-1500 thats identicle but without bluetooth for anout 100 less.

Amazon.com: pioneer 1500 Amazon.com: pioneer 1500

Or if you would rather use crutchfield

Thats what i have and im very happy with it
Crutchfield has great service but always seems to be priced high.
I got mine at a local stereo shop on closeout for 250

Thanks! I might be looking into a head unit because it has now become picky as to what audio cd's it wants to play without skipping. I thought it might just be dirty but it plays some burned cd's perfectly while the next one skips. Do you think the slot # makes a difference? Like maybe one slot plays better than another? I admit I know absolutely nothing about how a multi-disc changer works.

I tried burning a new playlist today by switching them all to v2.3 and it still wouldn't play some songs. I paid attention as to what songs it wouldn't play and I honestly can't find the common factor. The songs that wouldn't play were Amazon downloads, but of course most of my Amazon downloads will play. Some of the songs that play fine are ancient files and I can't even remember where they came from. I changed them to have the same ID3 tags (v2.3) and they're all taken from my iTunes folder. Under "get info" some of the songs that don't play are listed as "stereo" under channel, then again some songs that do play have this. Some that don't play are listed as LAME for the encoder...however once again, some that do play are showing this and some successful ones even say unknown! I just can't figure this out...it's like the system just chooses to not play some songs.

My last ditch effort is to try a couple new brands of blanks that I haven't tried in the past...Verbatim and Dynex (Best Buy's proprietary). I'll give that a shot and see how it goes. I also remember those old black CD-R's...I had an old head unit that wouldn't play anything but those. I might try tracking some of them down to try but I haven't seen them for sale in forever.

Thank you for this! I did a compare between this and the $399 model and the differences are stuff I don't even care about (satellite ready, HD radio, bluetooth). The only thing I really care about is the ability to play an mp3 player via USB.
