Clutch pedal annoyance
On my '05 gt whenever I press the clutch in and let it out it squeaks like cheap plastic. I got under there a couple months back and squirted lithium grease all over the metal piston that get pressed into the cylinder. Did nothing. Plz help.

Is it louder from under the dash or inside the engine compartment?
Maybe this can help: http://iihs.net/fsm/?dir=259

No, that stupid plastic thing is the "assist spring". It's annoying as hell, and annoyed said hell out of me until I removed it. There are a few write-ups on how to remove it, but I basically just used a big screwdriver and some leverage. Some call it the "helper spring".

hawkeye, so ur saying u have had this trouble too? that little black plastic thing squeaking upon pushing in and letting it out?

Yes, there's an assist spring, but it isn't very strong. You may be getting the squeak because the trunnion that connects your master cylinder to your clutch pedal is on it's way out, if you get much more than 2mm play before the clutch pedal starts to actuate that might be it. Once it goes, it really goes, I pushed my clutch pedal in, heard a loud pop (similar to the sound I heard/felt when I tore the cartilage in my knee) and the pedal stayed on the carpet! I noticed that mine after it split in half had a lot of wear in the middle of it where it attaches to the clutch pedal. To replace it, you need an entirely new clutch master cylinder, which is $70-$100.
It took me 6 hours to replace, as you need to take out the driver's seat to get space and the hairclip pin that holds the master cylinder and high pressure line was in a tight and difficult place to pop off (ended up using a wood awl to pry it off). You also need to take the brake/clutch pedal assembly out, which isn't too hard, but putting it back in was an ordeal.
Especially when the workshop manual explains everything in such simple terms, they fail to mention some of the finer points in the procedure...
Saying that, you may be getting a squeak from one of the switches (the lower one is what allows you to start the car, the upper one disengages cruise control). Those switches will probably be much cheaper and easier to change out, too!

No, I can almost guarantee you it's this little f***er:
Yes, that squeaked every time I hit the clutch pedal. I pulled it out (took about 30 minutes of dicking around, and then I just got a big screwdriver and pried the top part off in about 20 seconds). The zip tie was installed when the spring was at its highest compression, and it was to keep the spring compressed to make it a little easier to take off.
