What Art161 said. Modern engines are built tightly enough where you really needn't worry about a break-in procedure. Just don't beat on it.
"It would also be a good idea to take an exit and drive around at city speeds for a few minutes a couple of times during your trip."
LOL! I do this with my 2007 that's well broken in by now...but it's just to have fun rather than worry about break-in. Between home and work is a straight stretch of highway with on- and off-ramps that run parallel to the road, so when I have the time I often find myself taking the off-ramps just so I can accelerate back onto the highway. Maybe I'll stop doing this once the newness wears off...but I hope not!
Best of luck with making a good deal, Adrian!

After thinking things over night, I think the best plan is to contact the dealer on Monday and work out the price I want. If we get to a price I like, then I can take a one way flight later on during the week. If for some reason something is wrong and I need to walk away then I'll just take a bus back. The reason for the flight is to make sure I get there before noon so I can inspect the car with daylight. It will cost me like $200 to fly there, and 100 on a bus back if needed, but at least I'll get to see the car in person. The alternative is to have it transported to me, which will run almost $400.
Only things I'm not sure on is if they'll need a deposit to hold that car until the end of the week and if it's refundable if there is something wrong with the car or they tried to back out of the price.

Just make sure it's the car you want before you go through all this hassle.
I once bought a car in St Louis over the phone, without trade. It was the car I wanted so after it checked out, I was on my way.
Another advantage if you know this is the car you want they can have the paperwork ready for you and make it a faster transaction. It's none of my business but I would make sure this IS the car I wanted before I went and even looked at it. The trip there, should just be to make sure there aren't any surprises.
Good luck!
if you're trading they won't make a firm deal. If you're not, they will most likely make a deal with a credit check (if you're financing) and a deposit.

yeah, I'd definitely make sure it's the one before I flew anywhere. I'm not even driving more than an hour or so unless I know for sure. Right now I'm just putting out my thoughts here to get some feedback while I sort everything out in my head.
Today I finally made it out to some dealers that had Sterling Gray models and I have to say, it's won me over. Originally I was looking at Black, but after seeing the SG one, the black just looks too plain. I like the combinations I could have with SG and black mods on it.
Right now I'm torn between the base GT Premium or the 401A package. I really like the door inserts. The seats I'm unsure of. They seem a bit more luxurious, similar to the seats in my old M3 regarding how smooth the leather is. The standard seats look much more sportier. Currently the closest car I've found within driving distance has what I need, but also has the 401A with Cashmere.
