Doug from Bamachips Tuning is back!
So I found this little gem on one of the s197 facebook groups... our main man Doug Studdard from the original Bamachips is back tuning again. I had been wondering what happened to him as of late.
To anyone who isn't familiar, this guy had the most reputable tunes for 3v cars a few years ago. He had the absolute best 5r55s automatic tunes available IMO. He's back tuning independently again at http://s197tuning.com/
Just figured some of you all might wanna know. I've been running his tunes since 2008 and my car is still kicking after many miles and much abuse. I wouldn't want anyone else tuning my 3v

As much as I was thinking those hard shifts hurt the trans, I had the pan dropped a few weeks ago after 90,000 miles, over 100 drag strip passes, and countless wot runs on the street. The tech said it still looked great and showed no signs of metal shavings or anything, just a normal amount of tiny metallic dust in the fluid.

He didn't have a falling out with them. He was the creator/founder of Bamachips. He sold it to AM, and stayed on for awhile during the transition of ownership. He wasn't actively tuning then for some time - non-compete agreements prevented it. Then he went to C&L but they closed their tuning down. I don't know what he did between the C&L closing and this new venture.

Nice! I may order his Torque tune just to see how it differs from the AM-Bama tune I have. He was on his way out before I had a chance to get my car and tuner. The one time I did contact him via e-mail before he closed down his business, he replied within the day and was very professional.
Great to see him back!

Either way, it's great to see Doug back in the game.
