Default creaking/groaning when stopping

This creaking/groaning noise just started.
As I am slowly coming to a stop I'm getting a creaking/groaning noise.
Sounds like it's coming from the rear.
Car has 52K miles on it.
If I apply the brakes hard it won't creak, only when brakes are applied softly and as I come to a stop.
Sounds like something needs to be greased. Caliper guide pins maybe?
Any Ideas on most likely cause?

Thanks,

Default similar problem on 2012 GT/CS

I have a similar problem (don't mean to highjack your thread but rather than create a new one thought I try here)

anyhow, recently bought a 2012 GT/CS and it's make a creaking/groaning sound when coming to stop that sounds similar to what the original post stated except it sounds like it is coming from the front and specifically the front passenger side. I looked at the front passenger rotor and pad and while I am no expert they don't look bad and it's not a typical brake grinding sound when the pads need replacing or any effect you would feel if the rotor was warped/marred like pulling or shuddering.

anyone know what could be plaguing us?

Most likely it's just the shims on the pads. Remove them and put a LIGHT film of high temp grease on both sides the backer shim and they will quiet down.
