charger
Hey i'm about to put a charger on my 06 GT and i talked to a place called modular powerhouse he said the two best chargers were a saleen or a kenne bell. I was wanting to puit a pro charger but he said i would have a lot of problems and that they don't build full boost until red line but a saleen or a kenne bell built full boost right when you touch the throttle if anyone know anything about which charger i should go with and if this guy was telling me the truth or talking trash i wouyld apreciate it. I know that this place does qaulity work so that is not the issue all i want to know is which charger to go with any help will be apreciated thanks.
For basics, here is a good article going over the various types of superchargers

Personally, I don't think you can beat a kenne bell twin screw but they can be really expensive. They say that our engines can't really handle alot more than 425 HP with the stock pistons and rods (although I have seen them handle much more) anyway so the KB might be a bit of overkill unless you want to go with forged internals. I dunno. I guess you could buy the 1.2 and still be safe.
Paxton and Vortech make good cenrifugal chargers but you have to wait until about 3,500 RPM to achieve any real boost while the twin screw is right there.
You also want to consider how far the manufacturer reccommends going between "rebuilds" on their S/C system and whether you want to go with an intercooler or after cooler (depending on your choice of power adder). The maintenance is getting better on the kits though, some of them only require fluid changes every 5k miles and some go much further by tapping into your oil pan.

One of the factors you may also want to consider is the sound. The procharger and the vortec will produce a whine that will definately tell peaple that you have some serious power under the hood.
On the other hand a Kenne Belle or a Saleen will be "more" silent util you punch it. Next month I will purchase the Saleen SC but I will look into the KB before I make my final decision.

I think you should get this one, or you'll need 2 actually.
Awesome
Why a 15 year old needs a supercharger for "his" 06 is beyond me. Most of your posts so far have been very, very basic questions. I think the folks here, are here to help. Not hold your hand and tell you what exact parts to put on, and where exactly to buy them from at what price...
The search function would come in handy here I think.

I don't have my car yet, still on order so I'm spending this time researching all of the performance mods I'll do after I get it. One thing to consider when selecting a supercharger is all of the components of the package rather than just the compressor. I'm definitely sold on the twin screws but there are 3. I noticed you didn't mention the Whipple. Look that one up and check it out. For me the decision is between the Whipple and the Saleen. I was really leaning towards the Whipple, I think their whole package plus their testing is the best. However, I think the Saleen sc is the most efficient design and since another member told me about JDM Engineering, I will probably go that way. They have a lot of experience with the Saleen and sell all of the necessary parts plus tune. -Joe
Texas stang you come in here just trying to be a A$$ hole to everyone i saw where you were giving someone else he!! you know an old man that lives near me once told me that if you never ask any questions you will never learn anything and i have always believed that. You are the kind of guy that doesn't even own a car and is probably twelve because obviousley you don't know enough about cars to give anyone any helpful information all you can do is bag on someone about a question they asked. Don't waste my time or anyone elses by making us have to scroll down farther than we normally would have just because you enjoy insulting someone so quit being a such an A$$ i would really apreciate it. And trying to figure out the difference in a twin screw setup and a centrifugal setup doesn't seem that stupid to me i mean if you want to talk about diesels i will be more than happy too. I had a powerstroke running a 12.8 sec 1/4 mile so feel free not to give me hell because i don't know everything about mustangs
