Default Parking Break Malfunction

Well, this is weird. To me, at least.

This morning I started my car with all of the defrosters on. I let it warm up for about 20 minutes and then when I went to drive it, I let off of the parking break and started to move. STALL.

Anyways, apparently, even with the handle down, the parking break did not disengage.

I worked with it for several minutes and then it ended up working. Not sure what I did to get it to work, though... but I thought I would share this tidbit of experience with all of you.

By the way, the drop-glass also stinks in the winter.

I'm happy that I don't live in an area where things getty REALLY COLD! I feel for those that do.

I've heard you shouldn't use the parking brake in really cold areas, cause they freeze together? I guess you could apply power and break them loose?

That "window freeze" must be a tough issue, I guess. Aren't Ford engineers living in cold climates?

I'm in southwest Virginia (Roanoke). Shouldn't be so cold here that it freezes the breaks.

I've learned the hard way with other cars to not use the parking brake during the winter unless I desperately have to.

I haven't had any problems with the window sticking either, and it's been pretty darn cold lately. We'll see, I suppose.
