That being said, traction control is not necessary. My vehicle doesn't have it and it drove in the snow just fine.
It's a matter of knowing how to drive in the snow, which you obviously have little experience doing.
Also, your transmission will make a difference... automatics are much different than a manual transmission in the snow.

Punching it in the snow!! Fun if you know what to do.
Saturday I had the open snow covered road to give the traction control a good test.
Got rolling in 1st gear, shifted in 2nd an put the hammer down, car pulled great and straight!
Id be willing to give any 4x2 car a run in the 1/4 mile, lol
