Thanks for the exhaust info douglasland!
CAI: I did some research (looked at various dyno charts before/after tune and intake) and came to my personal conclusion that the tune accounts for most of the horsepower increase (if not all) on 2010s and the factory box is pretty decent. I did go with an AFE filter though; it's the only one that is different from stock that fits in the stock box. It has more surface area so it's like putting a conical filter on the stock setup for higher flow. The stock 2010 CAI has kind of a ram air setup with a intake at the grill so my simple brain says improve the filter and you have the equivalent or better than an aftermarket CAI.
I'm definitely warming up to the appearance of the 2010 rear end but I don't know if it's better than the 2005-2009. I like the tail lights better though, and it's definitely distinctive and modern looking...maybe a future classic after we get used to it. I prefer it without ANY wing. The rear I can't stand is the 1999-2004; positively the ugliest Mustang rear ever made IMO but everyone seems to be A-OK with it.

The AFE. My non-scientific 'hunch' is that due to the design (they claim a huge flow increase) being like a basket with more surface area and the ram-air function of the stock 2010 air box it's similar to an aftermarket CAI with conical filter. I bought the dry one because I've had oiled filters (K&N, Amsoil) in the past and don't feel like messing with one again...even though the flow might not be quite as good. The dry is washable and reuseable...they also have an oiled filter with the same design if that's your preference.
