Default california special valance/fog lights - wiring ?

next weekend I am going to tackle installing my CS lower valance. I picked up the kit that includes the fog lights and the pig tails needed to wire the fog lights. I am also replacing my GT premium grill and keeping the old larger fog lights off of the car.

I have done simple bolt on car mods but I have never tinkered with electrical - I've always deferred to an expert to do the work on it. I honestly haven't done any electrical work at all, be it home, car etc. I deal with computer electrical stuff but I don't actually rewire anything LOL, just plug it in.

this seems simple enough but I don't really understand what needs to be done. could someone break it down for an electrical newbie? what all is needed and the steps to take?

I'd appreciate it.

for reference, this is the kit: http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/...nt-Valance-Kit

this is their install blog (it just doesn't simplify the wiring portion) http://www.mylrs.com/blogs/lrs/archi...installed.aspx

It seems pretty straight forward. Just head down to the auto store and pick up some 16 gauge electrical wire/electrical tape and some connectors to splice into the stock fog light wiring harness. Ask the guys at the counter for help if your not sure.

Next is the install, which you can either cut the factory connector for the fog lights off and just connect the new wire to both the old fog light wires and the new pig tail

Or you can leave the connector (what I would do) and just splice into the old fog light harness with the new wire, and then connect to the new pig tail.

The KIT should include Fog light harness extenders/adapters ... should all be plug and play.

I think the issue comes when trying to wire two sets of fogs. It is plug and play when replacing one with the other.

I had to read the OP's post twice, but he is "replacing the stock grille and keeping the larger fogs off the car" so yes it will be plug and play.

When I installed my boss splitter on my CS I noticed the extension harnesses that ford added onto the stock fog harness to attatch the CS fogs. Its 100% plug and play

Grabber, I read it as he is going to run both. I guess it will be up to OP to let us know.

sorry for the confusion fellas. I meant I will be removing them from the car entirely. I worded that badly.
