Please don't get detailing advice from a Mustang forum. Go to Autogeek.net or MeguiarsOnLine.com.

(I especially enjoyed the advice to get a water filter to stop rain water spotting.)

1. Never spray cold water from a hose on a hot car, cracks the clear-coat (spiderwebs).

2. Park under trees, sap!

3. What Doc said.

Utterly absurd.

If your assertion was true, that would mean self serve and drive through car washes in Palm Springs, Las Vegas and Mojave are only open from 8:00PM to 8:00AM and customers must pop the hoods on their cars and turn the engines off for 20 minutes before washing their cars.

It also means the thunderstorm I drove through last week (ambient temp 86F with rain cold enough to contain tiny hailstones) should have cracked my paint.

Please, please please get detailing advice from professional detailers.

My black 02 was sprinkled by the neighbors sprinkler at 2 pm mid summer in TN when I eventually noticed, the car looked like she had the measles. I had to clay and polish for MANY hours (8) to get those spots out. I used 3m compound and then 3m polish after claying then put a dang good coat of wax (I think meguires) after. It took a lot of elbow grease but black is the best looking color when polished, but I had to get something a bit more low maintenance this time (kona Blue). Good luck, I feel for you.
