The premium package from what i can tell is mostly 3-4000 dollars extra for the leather seats and some minor upgrades such as that lighting and speaker system. Break it down and it is the same car as the base v6. If you want to just buy a car and leave as is then i would consider it but if you think you might go aftermarket i would go base model and work your way up

I don't care about the leather, but I do like the ambient lighting. The other item I like is the Sync on the premium. I am sure you can get these things, but the pain of having to install them and doing it "right" bother me as it would in a lot of cases void your warranty. Anytime you mess with electrical items on these cars, you are playing with fire. Tap into the wrong wires and guess what you may be paying premium to get the base electrical stuff fixed.

I think if you bargain and shop, get one dealership against another you would likely find that you could get the premium package far cheaper.
