Default 3.7 Reliability Survey!

Now with a few years of Ford production on the 3.7 V6, how's the reliability? What have you taken it in for.

Just saw the April 2013 Consumer Reports car issue. Mustang is again a recommended vehicle making that select list in both the new and used sections of the magazine. Reliability for the current V6 is reported to be average and for the V8 below average. I'm at 17k with no warranty issues whatsoever.

UPDATE: When they ran this question over at the 5.0 Coyote section (https://mustangforums.com/forum/5-0l...out-there.html) there were quite a few responses; and, they had two guys reporting warranty engine replacements at 18k and 35k respectively. Good grief.

71,500 miles on my 2011 that I purchased with 31 miles on it back in June 2010. No real issues other than the seat motor going out and replaced under warranty. Going through the usual maintenance.

I don't even begin thinking about measuring reliability without a good # of vehicles over 100,000 miles. If there are chronic problems before that, the manufacturer's reputation has gone down the tubes.

My '11 has 40k and the only problem I had was the paint peeling under the hood. Fixed by Ford in a few days and good as new.

I'm just over 30k in my 12' and the only issue that I have is the car rattling. The dealer has had the dash taken apart 4 times and each of the doors twice and the problem only seems to go away for the first 2-3 weeks after they fix it.

23k Km's on my '13 mustang and I've been going crazy with 2 issues on the car.

1st is the car Squeaks extremely loud front and back on every little bump on the road
(now the front stopped and the back is still doing it)

2nd is last oil change I did they marked my brakes as being in Fair condition... I've had the car for about 8 months now and I really take car of it and 90% of the time I brake with compression, barely touching the brakes till the end but when I use the car after it's been parked for a while the brakes feel like it just rained like crazy and they don't grab very well.

Got an appointment Wednesday to get it checked out, hoping they don't charge me for usual wear on the car for the brakes.

At 8500km my 3.7 had a connecting rod fail. This pulverized a bearing and contaminated the motor with metal debris. Engine was replaced under warranty. No modifications to the vehicle and I had next to zero spirited driving. New engine feels stronger and I have written the first one off as a freak failure. Only other issues with car have been the rear sway bar end links failing at 16,000km which we're replaced under warranty. Car is still bone stock and has 19,000kms.
