RE: how much power can a 351w block take
I have almost got mi 351 street ready but i was wondering this, When i was building it up
i noticed that my lower (short) head bolts all have blind holes. I remember having to use thread sealer on my 5.0L block because they where into the coolant.
My question is this, are all 351 blocks like this? Blind head bolt holes or is it because i have a marine block?
Thanks

The cheapest aftermarket block is the DART. Initially it may be more expensive than the SVO but, the SVo block is unmachined. You have to do alot of machine work before using it. The DART has the work already done.

ive never had a problem with my tko btw. but im only pushing 475 rwhp from a 302 also so it may be different when theres more torque involved. I got the pro 5.0 shifter on my tko600 and it smooths way smoother then anything ive driven before including a t56 in a 04 z06 vette
