Will my T5 hold a 351w with some mods and 8.8 rear end with 3.73's. im getting a stronger clutch but i wnat to no if the tranny can take it.

The t5 will hold up, at least for a while.
'How long' will depend on how you drive it.

My stock trans behind the 408w has about 220k miles now. It is starting to show signs of wear now.

The T5 used in the 83 is different than the later models. They have about the same torque rating as the later model 4 cylinder cars. You can use it but, it will not live at the track. There is a reason Ford installed the Tremec behind the 351w in the 95 Cobra R.

This is going to be my weekend have fun car. Im going to go to the track to see what it runs and maby a few other times with my buddies but this isnt going to be a alltime race car. Just a car.
