Im baaack, but with a 351 :D
Hey guys,
I know i havent posted in MONTHS, its just this new job i got and everything, havent seen much of the internet. I missed this place
Anyway, during my abscence from MF, i decided id like to go for a 351 swap into my fox (after being beat by a Mercedes E55 with some mods). If u know my car its got:
Twisted Wedge heads (stage 1)
GT40 upper and lower intake
BKK shorties
E303 cam
1.7 rockers
and so on...
SO i bought a block coming from a 91 truck, left the stock pistons in (im figuring since theyre low compression anyways, i can slap on a super later on), and basically stock bottom end (Im planning a DART block with a 427 stroker later on, but this is just for the time being). I also put in a Crane Xtreme Energy 580 lift cam, and some nice plugs and wires (NGK).
U guys have any idea of the HP ill be running (W/O the super)?
1/4 mile times (3.73 gears, street tires)?
Thanks in advance

RE: Im baaack, but with a 351 :D
Ya ofcourse im swapping the trick flows, but im afraid it wont be enough air, or will it? And the 1.72 rockers are staying too.
Im also putting in a new Trick Flow Upper and Lower intake (my mechanic suggested this, he says that the GT40 i have will just choke the engine).
Is it recommended that i have a port job on my heads to get them to flow a bit more? Or are they good enough as they are. I have 24 lb/hr injectors now.
Also, what is a recommended supercharger for this cam/heads setup (keep in mind the stock bottom end and pistons). And how much estimated HP with that super...
And barn... your cool man

TW's will be borderline but should be ok, but some porting would definately not hurt.
I have the TFS 5.8L R intake, nice intake and yes GT-40 is nowhere near enough flow.
24# injectors might be border line, probably need to step up to 36's
you need a high CFM s/c, its not just the boost but the CFM flow of the s/c too.
351W needs a lot of air to breathe, I think thats like the T trim Vortech, not sure.
10psi s/c with ported TW's and good cam .......... 500rwhp wouldnt surprise me.
borderline on stock bottom end, but thats what I'm running too.
Stock 351w crank is pretty beefy.
I'm going to throw a 100-150 shot of nitrous on mine I think and should see close to 500rwhp
I built my bottom end up with forged pistons, stock rods, stock crank and ARP bolts and main studs.
