yea but most of the time people swap a 351 in for performance reasons. it seems like it would make sense just to hold off on the swap if you cant afford to put a descent head on a motorthat needs it.

and didnt they put the e7's on the truck versions mainly? a small headed motor like that would increase torque but would probably be nothing after 4000rpms
You are correct, but I don't know of any 351 cars that have been made in the last 20 years either. I'm not disreguarding the fact the GT40's aren't the best option, but they aren't the worst either. I am between what heads I am putting on my 351, looking into some RHS's but the price of GT40's looks much better(I am cheap, or just not good at waiting....)

i would like to know how it would run as well. I do have the bbk long tubes for the swap and gt40p heads as well. when I bolt them to the head there is only 1 plug that will need a 90degree boot
