HI, guys those of you with 351W. Will the original fan from the 87-93 5.0L mustang be able to cool the 351W? I have a 89 mustang with 351W and 3 row radiator just need fan. I am thinking about swapping the fan from my old 5.0L motor.

 

It'll work.

You can put an electric fan off a Taurus or Lincoln Mark VIII on there cheap too though.

 

The reason I ask is the fan from my old 5.0 islike 650 miles oldand I hate to throw it out. Will I have issues with overheating while idling at the stop light?

 

No, it shouldn't. The only issue you will begin to get with your cooling comes with elevated compression or possibly s/c or turbo. Idle won't cause you any trouble with that arrangement.

 

No, s/c or turbo atleast not anytime soon. The conversion project emptied my pockets. I khow the factory fan rub's off a few HP's but I don't really care as long as it cools the engine well.
