I am about to swap my 93 lightning engine into a 88 fox-body (5.0 shell). I have heard you can use the mustang computer and wiring harness and it will work fine with mild to moderately modified 351w (which is exactly what I'm running). My question is, should I use the truck computer and wiring harness or the mustang 5.0 computer and wiring harness to complete the swap. Any info on the computer and wiring process would be great!

It'd be easier to run the mustang setup. They have the same firing order and everything so that won't be an issue. I think the sensors and stuff will work for the most part. But it would benefit you a lot to get a tune after u get it in there

 

Use the 5.0 harness and computer. Just tune it after, Either way you'll have to tune it. I an not to big into the EFI stuff, I am a carbed type of guy. But mustang harness will do just fine!

 

when you guys say harnessdoes that include everything? even the wires that go into the dash? or is it just the engine harness that hooks up to the fuel injectors etc? i have a carbed winsor on my 82so i dont need to smog it but the frame is twisted or more like getting there i found a 4cyl but its an 88 cpe so now im thinking of fuel injection.

 

its the factory harness that is installed from the factory.......everything that goes to the computer and controls the engine
